TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida A&M University baseball players Jackson McKenzie and Caleb Granger earned All-Southwestern Athletic Conference recognition, the league announced. McKenzie was named to the All-SWAC First Team at designated hitter, while Granger was selected to the All-SWAC Second Team as a starting pitcher. The honors cap a productive 2026 campaign for the Rattler duo, who played key roles in FAMU's season across conference play.

McKenzie Powers Rattler Offense

McKenzie was one of the most dangerous bats in the SWAC this season, slashing .386/.467/.702 with 10 home runs, 48 RBI and 30 runs scored in 114 at-bats across 38 games. He recorded 44 hits, including 12 doubles, a triple and 10 long balls, while drawing 24 walks against just four hit-by-pitches.

The designated hitter delivered several signature performances during the year. He drove in a season-high seven runs at Grambling on May 2, a game in which he also belted two home runs and swiped his lone stolen base of the season. McKenzie also homered twice in a six-RBI effort at Jackson State on April 12, and he reached base six times with four runs scored at Prairie View on April 2.

McKenzie showed consistent production throughout the spring, collecting three hits on four separate occasions — including a 3-for-4 day with three RBI against Mississippi Valley State on April 19 and a 3-for-5 effort with four RBI against Texas Southern on May 16 to close the regular season.

Granger Anchors Pitching Staff

Granger served as the Rattlers' workhorse on the mound, posting a 7-4 record with a 4.59 ERA across 14 starts and 84.1 innings pitched — the most on the staff. He struck out 78 batters against 23 walks, holding opposing hitters to a limited free-pass rate throughout the season.

The right-hander turned in several dominant outings, including an eight-inning, one-run gem against Villanova on March 6 in which he scattered eight hits and struck out eight while allowing just one walk. He also tossed 6.1 scoreless innings against Alabama State on March 27, and he threw a complete-game seven innings of two-run ball against Texas Southern on May 14 to close the regular season on a high note.

Granger recorded double-digit strikeouts once this season, fanning 10 Southern University hitters over six innings on March 13. He struck out at least five batters in 10 of his 14 starts.
